Since the Israeli offensive on the Gaza Strip began on October 7, the Israeli military has been intensifying its attacks on Palestinian journalists, aiming to suppress the truth of their actions against unarmed civilians.
Since the onset of the aggression, Israeli forces have deliberately targeted and killed 109 journalists in airstrikes. This includes the recent assassinations of journalists Hamza Wael Al-Dahdouh and Mustafa Thuraya, who were killed in a targeted bombing of their vehicles. This alarming situation continues with no international response.
Since October 7, the Israeli occupation forces have waged a destructive war on Gaza, resulting in thousands of deaths and injuries and causing extensive damage to the region’s infrastructure.
The Israeli aggression in Gaza is a stark violation of international humanitarian law and human rights. It endangers the lives of civilians, including journalists and media professionals, inflicting immense suffering.
The international community and human rights organisations must take action against the Israeli military’s crimes against journalists, holding them accountable for these blatant violations.
