Israeli occupation forces have forcibly displaced a group of Palestinians from Al-Shifa Medical Complex and its surroundings in Gaza, leaving them naked.
A video circulated on social media showed a group of Palestinians walking naked after being released by the Israeli army from Al-Shifa Medical Complex and its vicinity and forced to evacuate to southern areas of the Gaza Strip.
A Palestinian citizen filmed the scene from his house window, capturing a group of Palestinians struggling to walk on a sandy street, heading towards the southern regions of the Gaza Strip.
The footage also shows naked Palestinians attempting to transport a man in a wheelchair with difficulty.
The Israeli army has been continuously invading Al-Shifa Medical Complex for the seventh consecutive day, which housed thousands of patients and displaced individuals. They have been carrying out widespread arrests, killings among the displaced, and shelling homes surrounding the hospital, resulting in hundreds of casualties.
This is the second time that Israeli forces have invaded Al-Shifa Medical Complex since the beginning of the war on the Gaza Strip on October 7th. They first invaded it on November 16th after besieging it for at least a week.
Back then, the occupation forces withdrew from the hospital on November 24th after destroying its yards, parts of its buildings, medical equipment, and the hospital’s power generator.
The new invasion of Al-Shifa Medical Complex necessitates urgent international action to ensure the protection of patients’ rights, provide necessary medical care, and hold the Israeli occupation accountable for human rights violations and violations of international humanitarian law, which emphasizes the protection of medical facilities and their staff during conflicts.
Since October 7th, the Israeli occupation army has been waging a devastating war on the Gaza Strip, resulting in a dire humanitarian situation and causing a major health and environmental catastrophe due to the destruction of vital facilities and widespread sewage overflow.
At the start of the war, the occupation cut off all electricity, water, fuel, and food supplies to the residents of the Gaza Strip. They targeted hospitals, health centres, bakeries, factories, stores, water stations, and water tanks, causing extensive damage to the infrastructure.
