The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) continued its genocidal war on the Gaza Strip, targeting densely populated residential areas, resulting in more deaths and injuries, including women and children. The shameful international silence and the failure of the human rights system to halt gross violations of international humanitarian law continued dispute all these massacres.
15 civilians were killed and others injured in the early hours of Friday after the occupation bombed a house in Khan Younis, southern Gaza Strip, and targeted a group of civilians in the town of Beit Lahia in the north, in addition to launching airstrikes in the Al-Mawasi area west of Rafah.
Occupation warplanes bombed the house of Mazen Al-Farra family near the Al-Mahatta area in Khan Younis, killing 10 members of the family and injuring others to varying degrees.
In the north, a drone targeted a group of civilians in the Atatra area of Beit Lahia, killing 3 people and injuring others. A similar strike in Al-Mawasi, west of Rafah, killed one person and wounded others.
The Israeli artillery shelled residential neighborhoods in Khan Younis, and warplanes launched raids on northern Rafah, resulting in more casualties and widespread destruction of infrastructure.
As the genocidal war continues, the death toll in Gaza since 7 October 2023 has risen to 50,886, while the number of injured has exceeded 115,875, amid vast destruction of residential areas and civilian facilities.
In light of these developments, residents of Gaza are facing an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe, with thousands of wounded lacking necessary medical care due to the destruction of hospitals and shortages of medical supplies, while civilians suffer from food insecurity and forced displacement under extremely harsh conditions.
The genocidal war waged by the Israeli occupation constitutes a blatant violation of all international laws and conventions, including the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, which defines genocide as acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group.
Indiscriminate bombing, systematic demolition of homes, targeting of shelters and hospitals, the siege of civilians and deprivation of essential aid all constitute clear pillars of an ongoing genocide being carried out in full view of the world and with unconditional American support. This necessitates the opening of an independent international investigation into the crimes of genocide being committed in Gaza, with an emphasis on the need to prosecute the leaders of the occupation in international courts for genocide and war crimes.
