Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip continue to claim more civilian lives, with the latest assaults alone killing 24 Palestinians and injuring 87 others in just the last few hours.
According to the Government Media Office in Gaza, widespread violations have been committed in recent days, resulting in the killing of 342 Palestinians since the beginning of the period in which the ceasefire agreement came into effect. The total number of injured has reached 875.
The office reports that the attacks have included direct gunfire at civilians and their homes, alongside air, ground, and artillery bombardment targeting populated areas. At the same time, Israeli forces have continued to advance in areas near the temporary yellow line, blowing up dozens of homes and civilian structures.
Field arrests of civilians have also been documented during raids, further heightening fear and insecurity among the population.
These assaults reflect a recurring pattern of violations that undermines the essential protection owed to civilians. The continued killing and shelling of residential areas — even during a period supposedly designated for de-escalation — demonstrates that civilians remain denied the minimum level of safety required under international humanitarian law.
As such, the current ceasefire agreement has not prevented extensive violations. Israel continues its assaults in the same manner that formed the basis of the previous genocide since October 2023, which resulted in thousands of deaths, mass injuries, and large-scale destruction of civilian infrastructure.
The situation on the ground clearly shows that the lives of civilians in Gaza remain in immediate danger, and that repeated attacks exacerbate the humanitarian collapse, leaving people in a state of constant displacement and fear. The ongoing targeting of residential neighbourhoods, the demolition of homes, and the firing on groups of civilians constitute a severe threat to their right to life, safety, and dignity.
In this context, ending the attacks is essential for any meaningful protection. The continuation of this aggressive approach means that civilians remain trapped in a cycle of violence, regardless of the existence of a ceasefire. The current reality makes it clear that halting the violations entirely is the only way to stop the worsening humanitarian crisis and to put an end to the relentless chain of killings that continues without interruption.
