Today, Thursday, the Israeli occupation forces arrested 26 Palestinians from the town of Hizma, northeast of occupied Jerusalem.
The IOF stormed the town with heavy gunfire and carried out a massive campaign of raids, searches and arrests in the homes of Palestinian citizens, along with interrogations and investigations, spreading panic and terror among children, the elderly and women.
Hizma is subjected to continuous violations including campaigns of arrests, demolitions, storming schools and interrogating residents, in addition to closing its entrances about 3 weeks ago, and harassing residents.
Last Monday, the IOF demolished 10 shops in the town and destroyed them completely.
The number of Palestinian prisoners sentenced to life imprisonment in Israeli prisons has risen to 547.
Yesterday, Wednesday, the Occupation Court issued a sentence of life imprisonment in addition to 15 years, and compensation of one and a half million shekels (480,000 dollars), against the prisoner Youssef Saeed Zuhour, 24, from Beit Kahil town, west of Hebron.
Zuhour is the third prisoner to be sentenced to life imprisonment in December 2021, in addition to the two prisoners, Qassem Asafra and Nasir Asafra, who have been detained since August 2019.
Israel holds about 4,650 prisoners, including 41 female prisoners, 225 children, and 550 administrative detainees, according to institutions specialising in Palestinian prisoner affairs.
