On Monday, November 28, 2022, the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) arrested six Palestinian fishermen off Rafah shores, south of the Gaza Strip.
Local sources affirmed that IOF war boats seized two Palestinian fishing boats while sailing near the Palestinian-Egyptian sea borders and arrested six fishermen who were aboard.
Fishing is one of the biggest industries in the Gaza Strip, a coastal enclave of almost 2 million inhabitants.
However, Palestinian fishermen and their boats are frequently targeted by Israeli war boats and have restricted their access to the sea from time to time.
The number of Israeli violations against fishermen in the Strip reached 333 in 2021, including shooting, arresting, and sabotaging fishing equipment.
