Dozens of unarmed civilians waiting to receive humanitarian aid in Gaza were killed and injured in an Israeli bombing and shooting from helicopters and drones, on the 4th day of Ramadan.
The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip reported that dozens were killed and injured due to IOF targeting citizens waiting for humanitarian aid at the “Kuwait Roundabout” in Gaza City, north of the Strip.
The Ministry announced that the death toll from the Kuwait Roundabout massacre who arrived at Al-Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza had risen to 20, while 161 were injured.
Those injured were lying on the floor of the hospital, and medical teams were unable to treat their injuries due to weak medical and human capabilities.
At Kamal Adwan Hospital in Beit Lahia, there was one killed and 6 injured in the same massacre.
The director of the government media office in Gaza, Ismail Al-Thawabta, stated that the IOF targeted those waiting for aid for the 20th day in a row with tanks and helicopters, amid international inability to stop these crimes.
The Palestinian Civil Defence spokesman Mahmoud Basal said, “The IOF are still using a policy of killing innocent citizens waiting for humanitarian aid as a result of the famine in the northern Gaza Strip.”
In a statement, Bassal called on the UN and international organisations to “work on stopping these massacres against those searching for a living.”
He stressed the need for bringing in this aid through the Gaza Strip’s ports and delivering it safely to all besieged citizens to avoid further casualties.
The IOF has repeatedly targeted Palestinian civilians while waiting for aid in Gaza, as the most recent attack on Monday had left a number of Palestinians dead and injured others who were waiting for aid trucks near the Kuwait roundabout as well.
Since October 7, the Israeli occupation army has waged a devastating war on the Gaza Strip, which has left an enormous humanitarian catastrophe and a major health and environmental disaster.
The Israeli occupation destroyed the only supplies of fuel, electricity, water, and food for the people of the Gaza Strip at the start of the conflict by bombing bakeries, factories, stores, water stations, tanks, and other infrastructure.
