The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) continued the bloody genocide against the Palestinian people, launching airstrikes, artillery shelling, and house demolition for the 19th day of its ongoing military operation in the northern Gaza Strip, amidst a tight siege that prevents food, water, fuel and medicine supply entry.
Following the Israeli occupation army’s bombing of the Masoud building in the town of Beit Lahia, north of the Strip, civil defense spokesman Mahmoud Basal said in a statement that the directorate’s crews had recovered two dead and three wounded from beneath the debris.
He went on to say: “The occupation soldiers opened fire on our crews, causing them to withdraw from the mission and not finish it.”
Israel bombarded the “Zarqa” area north of the Gaza Strip, killing two Palestinian children and injuring six more.
On the 19th day, amid a tight Israeli siege, airstrikes, artillery shelling, and house demolitions continue in the northern Gaza Strip, particularly in the Jabalia camp and the town of Beit Lahia.
After clearing out the displaced from the Al-Fakhoura School in the Jabalia camp, the occupation army stripped some of them of their clothing and told them to go to a checkpoint close to the Indonesian Hospital, where the forces were positioned.
In a statement, Gaza’s Ministry of Health urged the international community, which has not been able to protect and shelter our people or bring in food and medicine, to try to send shrouds to cover the bodies of the dead people who have died in the Strip.
The Israeli army has been enforcing a strict siege and heavy bombardment on the region for 19 days, forcing the displaced Palestinians in northern Gaza to bury their victims’ bodies in the open streets without shrouds after the shrouds ran out.
According to multiple sources and besieged residents, the Israeli occupation army is preventing any trucks delivering food or aid from entering the northern Gaza Strip, which has significantly exacerbated the famine and thirst crisis.
Several days ago, the occupation shut down the internet and communications in the area, which has made it difficult to communicate with the locals and resulted in a lack of images and videos showing what is happening to the displaced.
Tens of thousands of people have been killed and injured in the Israeli occupation army’s devastating war on the Gaza Strip since October 7. The destruction of essential infrastructure and the overflow of sewage in vast areas have resulted in a serious humanitarian crisis and a major health and environmental catastrophe.
The international community must act swiftly and forcefully to halt the genocide and compel Israel to abide by the rulings of the Security Council, the UN, and the International Court of Justice. In order to protect civilians, guarantee the immediate delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, carry out international resolutions demanding an end to the siege and aggression, and stop these heinous crimes, nations and international organizations must take decisive action.
