The Israeli occupation continues its displacement and Judaization policy in Palestine, ignoring international condemnations that have failed to stop the almost-daily demolition operations.
On Thursday, the occupation forces demolished five Palestinian homes in several areas in the occupied West Bank, under the pretext of “being built without a permit.”
The demolitions took place in Bethlehem and al-Khalil, and the northern Jordan Valley.
The Israeli troops stormed the Haska neighborhood in al-Khalil and began the demolition of a three-story residential villa.
According to eyewitnesses; Israeli bulldozers leveled the villa to the ground.
Along the same line, Israeli bulldozers belonging to the Jerusalem Municipality, which is under Israeli occupation, demolished a house in the village of Al-Walaja, located between Bethlehem and Jerusalem.
The head of the village council, Khader Al-Araj, said in media statements that the occupation authorities demolished Palestinian homes in the village on an almost daily basis.
In the northern Jordan Valley; the IOF demolished three Palestinian homes built of tin.
Since the start of the Israeli comprehensive aggression against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip in October 2023, the Israeli forces escalated attacks and house demolition policy especially in area (C), which constitutes about 60 percent of the West Bank area.
Official Palestinian data affirmed that 318 facilities in the West Bank were demolished during the first half of 2024, compared to the demolition of 313 facilities during the entire year of 2023.
The Israeli occupation authorities and settlement associations are seeking to target Palestinian homes and lands in profit of settlement expansion.
It is noteworthy that the demolition, displacement, and settlement operations carried out by the Israeli occupation constitute a blatant violation of international law and the human right to access to safe and appropriate housing, without discrimination or forced displacement.
