As part of their ongoing atrocities against Palestinian civilians, the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) shot and killed a young Palestinian woman in the head close to the Beit Ainun roundabout, north of Hebron.
The Palestinian General Authority for Civil Affairs was informed that Maimouna Abdel Hamid Harahsheh, 20, had been shot by IOF gunfire.
The IOF deliberately left Harahsheh bleeding to death, without allowing ambulance crews to arrive at bypass road 60, near Junction 35. The Israeli troops are still holding her body.
The act of directly executing a Palestinian girl and then impeding an ambulance from reaching her is a horrifying and illegal act that represents a flagrant violation of human rights and international humanitarian laws. An independent and transparent international investigation is necessary to ascertain the facts surrounding this crime and hold those responsible accountable in accordance with international law.
This horrific act highlights how urgent it is to safeguard and secure the Palestinian people. International human rights organizations and the international community must actively oppose such crimes, put an end to the bloodshed, and seek justice for the Palestinian people.
Recent years have seen a notable increase in IOF’s propensity to open fire on Palestinians and kill them in cold blood, even when they do not pose a threat since their leadership gave new orders to its soldiers permitting them to fire on Palestinians who throw stones and Molotov cocktails, even after they have finished doing so and while the young men are leaving the area.
