The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) continues its aggression in the northern West Bank for the eighth consecutive day, targeting densely populated cities and camps, and resulting in killings and widespread destruction of property and infrastructure.
The IOF stormed Tulkarm and its two camps, where eyewitnesses reported that the IOF forcibly removed dozens of Palestinian families from their homes which turned into military sites, used civilians as human shields, and began destroying the camp’s infrastructure.
Furthermore, two Palestinians were killed and three others were injured on Monday evening in an Israeli drone bombing of a vehicle in Tulkarm, followed by armed clashes between the IOFand Palestinian resistance fighters.
In Jenin, the occupation forces continue their aggression through their military campaign which began eight days ago, leaving 16 dead, including a girl, and more than 50 injured, while causing wide destruction in parts of the camp.
This aggression violates international humanitarian law, which prohibits collective punishment and targeting civilians and infrastructure. Using civilians as human shields is also a war crime under the Geneva Conventions.
These violations come within a broader context of Israeli escalation. According to Palestinian statistics, since October 2023, the occupation has killed more than 880 Palestinians in the northern West Bank alone, while the Gaza Strip has witnessed genocide, leaving 159,000 dead and wounded.
This widespread aggression requires the intervention of the international community to protect Palestinian civilians and ensure that those responsible for these crimes are held accountable before international courts. Demands are also increasing to impose sanctions on Israel due to its continued violation of international laws and human rights principles.
