A 21-year-old Palestinian was killed by Israeli gunfire near the West Bank city of el-Bireh, the Palestinian health ministry declared on Monday.
The health ministry affirmed that Muhammad Imad Hassanein, 21, was killed after being shot in the head while taking part in a peaceful prtest at the northern entrance of Bireh against Jenin aggression.
Hassanein is a former prisoner from the Gaza City and lives in Ramallah. He was arrested on May 15, 2019, after being shot in the foot.
Early Monday, angry protests swept Bireh and Ramallah in solidarity with Jenin, which has been under ongoing Israeli aggression, leaving at least four Palestinians killed.
The Israeli aggression on Jenin requires that human rights and international organisations take effective measures to hold those responsible for these violations to justice, provide protection to the civilians, and provide the necessary support to the affected families.
