The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) has been killing 4 Palestinian children every hour in the Gaza Strip since their extermination war of the Palestinians started on October 7, 2023.
The Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics said stated that since October 7, the occupation has killed 14,350 children, which is 44% of the total death toll in Gaza, thus killing 4 children in Gaza every hour.
The Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics also reported that “70% of the missing in Gaza are children and women, which constitute 7,000 people.”
About 17,000 children in Gaza have become orphans after losing one or both parents since the start of the war, according to a previous estimate by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
As for the occupied West Bank, the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics added that the occupation killed more than 455 Palestinians, including 117 children, while wounding 724 children out of 4,700 wounded.
It also reported the displacement of 1,620 Palestinians, including 710 children, in the West Bank, and the arrest of 1,85 children since the beginning of 2024, including 500 children after October 7, 2023.
The number of children under the age of 18 in Palestine is expected to reach 2.432.534 children by mid 2024, that is 43% of the total population.
The Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini, recently stated that the number of children killed in the Gaza Strip since October 7, exceeded the number of children killed in the world’s wars over the past four years.
These statistics reveal the humanitarian catastrophe Gaza is witnessing, which requires the international community to take serious steps to stop the Israeli aggression on the Strip, protect the rights of Palestinian children, and ensure their safety at all times, in accordance with humanitarian and international laws and principles.
Since October 7, 2023, the IOF has been waging a devastating war on the Gaza Strip, resulting in the killing and injury of tens of thousands, as well as causing humanitarian, health, and environmental catastrophe, due to the destruction of vital facilities and the overflow of sewage in large areas.
