The Israeli occupation continues to target displacement tents in the Gaza Strip, deliberately killing displaced families, amid a total international silence.
Four Palestinians, including 3 children, were killed in an Israeli airstrike on a displacement tent in the Al-Mawasi area west of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip on Friday.
Palestinian medical sources affirmed that the airstrike targeted a displacement tent near the Doctors Without Borders Foundation west of Khan Yunis, killing four Palestinians, including a woman and three children.
Thousands of displaced Palestinians are crowded into this targeted area.
The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) previously targeted the Al-Mawasi area’s displacement camps multiple times, resulting in hundreds of Palestinian deaths and injuries, despite being classified as “extended humanitarian areas,” which are deemed to be safe areas.
The IOF have been pushing over the past few months to gather the displaced people from Gaza’s north and south to the Al-Mawasi area on the Mediterranean coast. This area stretches from Deir al-Balah in the north, through Khan Yunis Governorate in the south of the Strip, and up to Rafah. It is 12 km long and one kilometer deep.
The majority of the region’s lands are split between agricultural and sandy greenhouses, and it is mostly open and undeveloped. It also lacks infrastructure, sewage networks, electricity lines, communications networks, and the Internet.
The displaced people in this tiny region face difficult living conditions and a severe lack of necessities like food, water, sanitary conditions, and medical attention.
Since October 7, 2023, the IOF army launched a genocide war on the Gaza Strip, which has led to a catastrophic deterioration of the humanitarian and health conditions, due to the continuous bombing and the tight siege.
