A Palestinian elderly disabled man died yesterday evening, Friday, as a result of being shot by the Israeli Occupation Forces.
Hussein Qawariq, 60, was injured, last Tuesday, July 26, 2022, after the IOF opened fire on him at the Hawara checkpoint, south of Nablus.
Eyewitnesses said that the disabled elderly was collecting empty bottles when IOF soldiers opened fire at him. Palestinian ambulance crews were denied access to the area to provide medical treatment to the injured, who was later transferred by an Israeli ambulance to an unknown place.
It is noteworthy that the occupation checkpoints have turned into traps for Palestinian citizens through which they are subjected to killing, arrest, interrogation and humiliation.
In recent years, the IOF has increased the killing of innocent unarmed Palestinians. Moreover, last January, leaders of the Israeli occupation army issued new orders to its soldiers allowing them to shoot at Palestinians, of all ages and genders, who are throwing stones and Molotov cocktails. It allowed them to shoot live bullets at them even after vacating the area and when there is no threat being posed to the soldiers.
