On Monday, April 24, 2023, Israeli occupation forces (IOF) opened fire on a young Palestinian man in the Aqabat Jabr refugee camp in Jericho, killing him.
Jericho mayor Jihad Abul-Asal said that the IOF killed Suleiman Ayesh and seized his body after storming the camp.
Earlier at dawn, many Israeli troops stormed the camp and spread in its alleys and on the rooftops of some homes amid intensive fire of live ammunition, tear gas canisters, and stun grenades.
Three other young men were reportedly injured during the events. The IOF also kidnapped three young men, including an injured man.
Along the same lines, another young man was injured and bruised after being run over by an Israeli military vehicle on Al-Hilal Street in the city.
Meanwhile, the IOF closed all city entrances for the third day in a row, restricting local movement. The IOF also seized a Palestinian car and detained the driver for questioning.
Restricting movement is one of the main tools Israel employs to enforce its regime of occupation. These conditions result in a life of constant uncertainty for Palestinians, making it difficult to perform simple tasks and plan their lives.
