On Friday, August 11, 2023, a Palestinian young man was killed, and seven others were injured by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) in Tulkarm refugee camp.
Medical sources reported that Mahmoud Jihad Jarad, 23, died of wounds he sustained during the Israeli pre-dawn raid, while seven others were transferred to the hospital for treatment, including a woman.
The Israeli occupation forces stormed the camp in large numbers, while snipers went up to the roofs of the local houses and buildings amid heavy firing of live fire and teargas bombs.
Jawad is the second Palestinian to be killed this week by Israeli forces. Mahmoud Abu Saan, 18, was shot dead earlier this week in Tulkarm camp.
Since the start of the year, 222 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli gunfire, including 39 children and 11 women.
These serious human rights violations require urgent international intervention to hold those responsible to justice and provide protection to civilians during conflicts.
