The Palestinian Health Ministry said that the young man Nassim Abu Fouda, 26, was shot and killed by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) in al-Khalil early on Monday.
Local sources affirmed that the IOF opened fire at a Palestinian vehicle at a military checkpoint south of the Ibrahimi Mosque, injuring Nassim Abu Fouda in the head.
Nassim was immediately taken to hospital, where he was proclaimed dead.
The Israeli occupation army regularly conducts raids, search and arrest operations in Palestinian towns across the occupied West Bank, which have intensified this year with Palestinians arrested or killed on a near-daily basis.
Under international law, there is no justification for attacking civilians. Targeting civilians is contrary to fundamental principles of humanity enshrined in international law, which should apply in all circumstances at all times.
