The Israeli occupation forces deliberately and directly fired bullets at the paramedic of the Medical Relief Society, Hamza Abu Hajar, while he was trying to rescue an injured during the Israeli military operation in Nablus.
He was immediately transferred to the intensive care unit in the hospital in critical condition as his injury resulted in internal laceration of the liver, kidneys, diaphragm, and a fracture of four bronchi from the rib cage. His condition remains very critical despite undergoing an operation.
On Friday, December 30, 2022, 36 Palestinians were injured and suffocated by the bullets and canisters of the occupation forces while storming the Old City of Nablus.
Targeting the paramedics directly with live bullets is one of the most prominent ways used by the occupation to further violate the rights of the Palestinians, by deterring the paramedics from providing any medical service to the injured, and depriving them of urgent medical services to save their lives. This is a form of a clear violation of the principles of the Fourth International Geneva Convention and all other human rights conventions.
