In a disturbing escalation, Israeli occupation forces on Monday cut off all telecommunications and internet services in the Gaza Strip for the tenth time since the genocidal war began on October 7, 2023. This deliberate blackout has plunged over 2.4 million Palestinians into complete isolation from the outside world.
According to Gaza’s Government Media Office, this latest disruption comes just two days after a brief restoration of services that followed a four-day outage—highlighting a systematic tactic in which control over civilian infrastructure is weaponized as part of a broader strategy of starvation, media blackout, and mass killing.
The office affirmed that this is not a technical malfunction or accidental failure—it is a calculated and deliberate act designed to fully cut Gaza off, suppress the truth, block information flow, and deny civilians their basic right to communicate, especially in emergencies.
The consequences are devastating: medical and rescue teams are severely hindered, often unable to reach the wounded, leaving them to die from untreated injuries. The blackout also obstructs documentation efforts and impedes accountability, allowing the occupation to operate with impunity.
Under international humanitarian law, such actions constitute a grave violation. Civilian infrastructure must be protected, and communication is a critical lifeline in conflict zones. When coupled with mass killing, displacement, starvation, and destruction, the deliberate severing of communication becomes part of a broader crime against humanity.
This marks the tenth such blackout since the war began, with the last occurring between June 11 and 14. These actions reflect a fascist mindset aimed either at subjugating the population—or wiping them out entirely.
