In yet another harrowing scene underscoring the deepening humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip, at least 30 civilians were killed and dozens injured on Wednesday by Israeli occupation forces near a humanitarian aid distribution center in the vicinity of the “Netzarim” checkpoint in central Gaza.
This massacre is part of a recurring pattern of targeting unarmed civilians in areas that are ostensibly designated as safe zones with purely humanitarian functions.
According to local medical sources, most of the dead and injured were waiting to receive basic food supplies amid a total collapse of infrastructure and extreme shortages of food and medicine due to the ongoing blockade and military assault that has gripped Gaza for months.
The sources confirmed that the injuries range from serious to critical, with the death toll expected to rise given the severely limited capabilities of the overwhelmed healthcare sector.
In a separate crime, four civilians were killed and several others wounded after an Israeli drone targeted a tent sheltering displaced persons in the Al-Mawasi area north of Al-Qarara town, south of Khan Younis. This was accompanied by artillery and aerial shelling of the Qizan Abu Rashwan and Al-Batin Al-Samin areas in the same city.
It is worth noting that aid distribution centers, which should be protected and neutral humanitarian zones, have increasingly become direct targets of Israel’s killing machine. Attacks on aid points in Rafah and central Gaza have escalated, with more than 130 aid-seekers killed since the launch of the distribution mechanism on May 27, 2025, and hundreds more wounded.
These centers, including those operated by the so-called “Gaza Humanitarian Foundation”—an Israeli-American affiliated entity rejected by the United Nations—have been transformed into massacre sites. The scenes reflect a systematic policy aimed at degrading civilians and forcing them into displacement under the harshest living conditions seen in decades.
These events clearly expose a deliberate intention to destroy civilian life in Gaza, where residents are targeted even in their most basic acts of survival—from seeking food to simply staying alive in open-air conditions. This is not only a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law but constitutes an ongoing genocide aimed at erasing an entire people through systematic killing, starvation, forced displacement, and destruction of life-sustaining essentials.
The continuous targeting of civilians and aid centers, along with the obstruction of humanitarian relief, represents a direct assault on human dignity and a multifaceted breach of the Geneva Conventions, particularly those concerning the protection of civilians during wartime. It signals a well-defined policy to forcibly engineer demographic change in Gaza.
Amid these atrocities, international silence persists, allowing the occupation to further advance its strategy of mass extermination without accountability or deterrence. This puts the current global order to a moral and legal test—one that transcends politics and challenges the very core of our shared humanity.
