Israeli occupation forces have blocked all entrances to the city of Jericho, east of the occupied West Bank, for a second day in a row.
Occupation forces set up military checkpoints at every entrance to the city, impeding Palestinian citizens’ movements in and out.
This morning, Sunday 23, occupation soldiers used tear gas against Palestinian citizens at the city’s major south entrance.
Jericho is a popular holiday destination for Palestinians across the occupied West Bank and ‘48 lands. The blockading of the city during Eid festivities has caused serious traffic problems within and across its outskirts.
Most major entrances were practically blocked.
Yesterday evening, Israeli occupation forces arrested a Palestinian woman in the city. Her identity has not been announced.
According to local sources, the unnamed woman took a public bus when she was arrested at a military checkpoint.
Under international law, such blockades by occupying forces are illegal.
