For the 62nd consecutive day, the Israeli occupation has continued its assault on Jenin and its refugee camp, killing 34 Palestinians and displacing more than 21,000 residents, amid widespread destruction and the militarisation of civilian homes.
Last night, Israeli forces stormed the town of Jalboun and other villages in the Jenin Governorate, using toxic gas and stun grenades. Since the beginning of the assault, nearly 230 Palestinians have been arrested.
In a clear act of collective punishment, Israeli bulldozers have razed 100% of the streets in Jenin camp and 80% of those in the city, forcing the displacement of residents from 3,200 homes.
The aggression extends beyond Jenin. In Tulkarm, the occupation has continued its military campaign for the 56th day, and for 43 days in Nur Shams camp, resulting in the killing of 13 Palestinians, including a child and two women, one of whom was pregnant. The attacks have led to the forced displacement of over 24,000 people.
Israeli forces have imposed a tight siege on both camps, systematically destroying critical infrastructure, including water networks and roads. In the northern neighbourhood adjacent to Nablus Street, they seized eight residential buildings, expelled their occupants, and converted the structures into military outposts.
The military has intensified home raids and mass arrests, storming entire neighbourhoods such as Al-Rabay’a and Al-Muqata’a, forcibly evacuating residents and leaving the camp nearly empty.
In parallel, forces have blocked sections of Nablus Street with dirt mounds, confiscated vehicles, and conducted intrusive searches, severely disrupting daily life.
These systematic violations constitute a blatant breach of the Fourth Geneva Convention, which prohibits collective punishment, forced displacement, and the targeting of civilians and civilian infrastructure.
Beyond the killings and home demolitions, the occupation’s conversion of residential areas into military zones constitutes a war crime under the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.
Moreover, the assaults on Jenin and Tulkarm amount to acts of ethnic cleansing, as Palestinians are forcibly expelled from their homes under threats and violence, creating a rapidly worsening humanitarian catastrophe.
Amid growing international silence, Israel continues to impose a new reality on the ground, destroying cities and refugee camps and transforming them into militarised zones, while safe shelter remains unavailable and humanitarian conditions deteriorate.
This ongoing aggression demands urgent international intervention to hold Israel accountable for its crimes, halt the forced displacement of Palestinians, and prevent the erasure of Palestinian presence in the occupied West Bank.
