For the second time, and under the pretext of construction without a permit, the Israeli occupation authorities forced a Palestinian family to demolish their own house in Jabal Mukaber village, south of Jerusalem, where hundreds of homes are threatened with demolition in the coming months.
The family consisting of six people, including children, had previously been forced to demolish their house in the town of Ras al-Amud in Jerusalem in 2015.
It is worth noting that Palestinians in Jerusalem face great difficulties in obtaining building permits, which cost tens of thousands of dollars for each apartment or store.
The Israeli occupation has intensified its settlement activities, as it demolished 317 homes in different parts of Jerusalem in 2021, under the pretext of “unlicensed construction”.
The Israeli occupation municipality in Jerusalem prohibits construction or land reclamation in the areas under its control in the occupied West Bank, and the outskirts of Jerusalem.
