Israeli occupation forces continue to kill and seriously injure Palestinians across the occupied territories, with little or no criticism from Israel’s major international supporters.
Yesterday, in Jenin city, four Palestinians, including a child, were shot and killed by an Israeli death squad.
23 other Palestinian citizens were injured in the same incident, including four critically.
In a brief statement, the Palestinian Ministry of Health reported that the dead are Youssef Saleh Barakat Shreim, 29-years-old, Nidal Amin Zaidan Khazem, 28-years-old, Louay Khalil al-Zughair, 37-years-old, and a child, Omar Muhammad Awadin, 16-years-old.
The ministry also reported that 12 people were wounded by live fire, four of them critically. The wounded were taken to nearby hospitals.
An Israeli commando had infiltrated the city, and on a busy Abu Bakr Street executed three of those killed.
Subsequently, Israeli reinforcements arrived, and their use of live fire continued.
Eyewitnesses and video evidence show Israeli forces initially wounding one of the slain, Khazem, before deliberately killing him with multiple gunshots to his head whilst he lay prone.
With the killing of the four citizens, the number of Palestinians to have died at the hands of occupation forces and illegal settlers since the beginning of 2023 has risen to 88, including 16 children, one woman, and one detainee held in an occupation prison.
