The Israeli Occupation Forces killed a Palestinian boy today at dawn in Jericho. The child is Mohamed Sulaiman Nawaja, 17, who was killed with several bullets of the IOF during its aggression on Palestinians in Al-Quds Street in Jericho.
Furthermore, the IOF stormed Aqabat Jabr and Ain Al-Sultan camps in the city of Ayha, and blew up the house of the detainee Maher Shalon in the Aqabat Jabr camp.
The Israeli occupation systematically violates the right to life of Palestinian children, as well as every other right they have, since it guarantees impunity by the international law which never held it accountable for any crime it commits.
International organisations must take effective measures to curb these violations and protect the rights of Palestinian children, and bring those responsible to justice. It should also adopt policies to protect children potentially at risk, and support the families affected by these violations. The international community must assume its responsibilities and activate these procedures.
It should be noted that international humanitarian law prohibits targeting civilians, whether in groups or as individuals, and violating the right to life, which is the most sacred right of all, must be met with severe punishments to ensure it is not repeated.
