Today, Sunday, an ambulance crew of the Palestinian Red Crescent were attacked in Jerusalem, as they tried to reach an injured Palestinian in Al-Wad neighbourhood.
The Palestinian Red Crescent announced that it had treated 24 injuries in the vicinity and inside the Old City of Jerusalem, stressing that the injuries varied between rubber bullets, beatings, and pepper gas, of which “eight injuries were transferred to the hospital for treatment, and the rest were treated in the field.”
The Islamic Endowment Department in Jerusalem said that 1,687 settlers raising the occupation flag have stormed the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque since Sunday morning. They laid on the ground of the courtyard of Al-Aqsa and performed Talmudic prayers under the protection of the police, which is a dangerous escalation and breach of the current status quo.
The Hebrew newspaper “Maariv” reported a higher number of intruders which reached 2626.
It is worth noting that this evening Jewish groups launched the “Flags March” in Jerusalem, to commemorate the so-called “Unification of Jerusalem” day of the occupation and annexation of the eastern part of the city in the June 1967 war.
