The Palestinian Authority security forces continue to target persons wanted for arrest by the Israeli occupation, as well as those who oppose its policies.
The Palestinian security forces use excessive force in its operations, leading to civilian deaths and injuries, and creating escalating tension in Palestine.
In the early hours of Saturday, the PA security forces carried out an extensive raid on the Jenin camp from three main axes. During this operation, Yazid Jaayseh, who has been wanted by the occupation for more than four years, was killed after being shot by the security forces.
Palestinian security snipers spread on the roofs of buildings, shooting extensively at homes and passers-by, resulting in the injury of four civilians, including women and children, among them the boy Ahmed Mari.
The security forces also targetted ambulances and electricity transformers, leading to power outages for thousands of residents, in addition to imposing a siege on hospitals in order to prevent the treatment of the wounded or arresting them, thus worsening the humanitarian situation inside the camp.
Since October 2023, violence has escalated in the West Bank, with statistics indicating that 12 people have been killed by Palestinian security forces in similar operations.
The 12 killed are Razan Turkman (woman), Firas Turkman, Ahmad Hashem Obeidi, Muhammad Arsan, Ahmad Al-Bali, Rabhi Al-Shalabi, and Yazid Jaayseh from Jenin, Mahmoud Abu Laban from Ramallah, Muhammad Sawatfa from Tubas, and Ahmad Abu Al-Foul, Muhammad Ahmad Al-Khatib, and Moatasem Al-Aref from Tulkarm.
The events in Jenin reflect the serious human rights violations in the West Bank, highlighting the urgent need for international intervention to stop the escalation of violations and ensure the protection of civilians. The escalation of tension and the increasing number of victims require immediate action at the national and international levels to achieve justice and prevent the recurrence of these violations.
