For the second time, the Israeli occupation government committed war crimes in Jenin camp under the nose of the world. It targeted civilians, residential buildings, and hospitals, and prevented ambulances and medical personnel from rescuing the wounded.
The camp, which covers an area of half a square kilometres, is densely populated, however the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) used air and land weapons against the people in the camp causing huge losses and causalities among civilians in the camp. This government is led by bloodthirsty criminals who seek the killing and destruction of the lives of civilian Palestinians.
Scenes of corpses in the alleys and streets, those wounded and struggling with death, while women and children running everywhere to escape the Israeli bombing, did not move the international community at all. Rather, the White House shamelessly supported the Israel occupation’s commission of all these crimes.
The attempts of the Western media to invite guests to speak about the Jenin camp in an attempt to dilute the truth are meaningless, as this catastrophe is not a simple event to be forgotten. Yesterday their crimes were in Nablus, Jerusalem, Hebron and others. The only truth is that the Israeli occupation aims to make Palestinians’ life impossible to force them to leave, as happened in 1948.
The Palestinians are fully aware of the occupation plans to vacate them from their lands, therefore they stand strongly alone in the face of this occupation. Women carrying their children and escaping to the borders won’t be seen anymore, as the Palestinians won’t leave their land and are more determined today than ever to sweep this occupation away, determine their fate, and establish their state.
The West should not be relied on to end the injustice inflicted on the Palestinian people, as the West has long ago failed morally and legally, by supporting the occupation with all means while only expressing meaningless concerns over the Israeli crimes against the Palestinians.
The shameful stance of the UN was apparent when its deputy spokesman, Farhan Haq, issued a shameful statement, saying “Israel has the right to carry out security operations, but it must do so without causing losses in civilians or damage to civilian infrastructure.”
The occupation has been committing massacres for decades and causing death and destruction on a daily basis in all Palestinian cities. This is the second time for Jenin Camp to undergo a catastrophe, after its first catastrophe that took place 23 years ago, yet the whole world remains silent. All world decision makers buried their heads, while normalisers are not concerned about anything in the world.
In these difficult moments, we only appeal to the masses of Arab and Islamic peoples and the international humanitarian community to support the Palestinian people in their crucial battle against this brutal occupation.
