Jordanian security forces continued on Friday, 26 November 2021, to arbitrary arrest 34 university students and political activists for the fourth consecutive day over their participation in Israel-Jordan gas deal protests.
Ahmad Al-Nuaimat, Fawaz Muhammad Al-Harut, and Iyad Al-Mubaidin are currently detaining in Tafileh prison
Saud Al-Mar’i is held in Aqaba prison, while Khaled Qatami and Khaled Al-Aidi are detained in Karak prison
Jihad Abu Al-Sukkar, and Raed Abu Odeh are detained in Umm Lulu prison, while Mahmoud Al-Awwad, and Majd Hassouna are detained in Bab Al-Hawa prison.
Hamza Obeid, Muhammad Abu Rumman, Hamza Nafie Ajjawi, Yanal Saadeh, and Hamza Essam Ahmed are also detained in Berain Prison
Baraa Yaqoub, Abdul Rahman Jamal, Ahmed Haider, and Osama Al-Juhani are also held in Rumaymeen prison.
Omar Burghul, Bakr Sabha, Qassam Ghaith, and Ahmed Ghaith continued to be held in Qafqafa prison.
Abu Rashid Al-Olaymat, Firas Tawahia, Ahmed Barshat, Adel Barshat, Ibrahim Al-Khalayleh, Ashraf Al-Harasis, and Dr. Atef Khawaldeh are currently detained Ma’an Prison.
Nasser Al-Daboubi, Anas Al-Jamal, Saif Tuffaha, Humam Abu Haifa, Omar Jalal and Hussam Salama are also held in separate arrests.
During their detention, the prisoners were subjected to abuse and ill-treatment including beatings, insults, humiliation, and strip search.
The detainees’ families told the Arab Organisation for Human Rights in UK that many of them were held in solitary confinement, while some others were placed with criminal prisoners in Qafqafa prison.
