On Tuesday, September 1, 2023, the Palestinian citizen Abd al-Rahim Fayez al-Ghannam was brutally killed with a bullet in the head fired by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) during its raid of Tupas village, where Ghannam lives.
The IOF besieged the house of the dead young man and fired live and rubber-coated metal bullets indiscriminately in the vicinity of the house, injuring three others in the criminal process.
Violence and the violation of Palestinians rights has become a daily practice of the IOF, which escalated its crimes dramatically under the current Israeli government. The extremist Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir in particular adopts a bloody approach in dealing with the Palestinians, and is faced with a shameful international silence and failure to hold the Israeli occupation and its leaders accountable for its ongoing crimes.
Moreover, the occupation forces continue demolishing Palestinian homes during their repeated hostile attacks on the Palestinians. On Friday they destroyed the home of the Palestinian citizen Abdel-Razzaq Abu Arra and arrested him and his son Bakr, in addition to arresting the young man Mohamed Walid Abu Arra, without any legal justification.
Arab Organisation for Human Rights in the UK repeats its calls on the international community, and all humanitarian and international organisations, to intensify pressure on the Israeli occupation forces to end its violations against the Palestinians.
It also calls on media professionals, journalists, jurists, civil society NGOs and human rights defenders around the world to form a global public opinion that supports human rights, sheds light on the war crimes of the occupation, and to pressure their governments to stop complying with the Israeli occupation and support the inherent rights of the Palestinian people.
