In one of its daily massacres, the Israeli occupation forces IOF directly bombed displaced people while they were performing the dawn prayer at the Tabeen School in the Daraj, central Gaza Strip, which led to the killing of more than 100 Palestinians and the injury of dozens.
The government media office in Gaza said that the IOF committed a massacre inside the Tabeen School in Gaza City, which claimed the lives of more than 100 people and injured dozens.
It added that “this bombing comes as part of the genocide and ethnic cleansing against our Palestinian people in a clear manner.”
It confirmed that the IOF directly bombed the displaced people while they were performing the dawn prayer, which increased the number of dead.
It pointed out that due to the horror of the massacre and the large number of dead, medical crews, civil defense, relief and emergency teams have not been able to recover the bodies of all the dead so far.
The media office expressed its strongest condemnation of this “horrific massacre committed by the occupation”, calling on the world to condemn it, holding the Israeli occupation and the US administration fully responsible for the massacre.
The statement called on the international community, international and UN organisations to pressure Israel to “stop the genocide and ethnic cleansing against civilians and displaced persons in the Gaza Strip, and to stop the bloodshed in the Strip”.
For his part, the spokesman for the Palestinian Civil Defense in Gaza, Mahmoud Basal, said in a statement that “after the Israeli bombing of the Al-Tabi’een School in Gaza City, the bodies of the citizens caught fire”.
He added that “the Civil Defense crews are trying to control the fire to retrieve the bodies of the dead and rescue the wounded”, describing it as a “horrific massacre”.
Eyewitnesses reported that the Israeli bombing targeted the displaced persons in the “Al-Tabi’een” School with three missiles directly in the school’s prayer hall.
The witnesses stated that the bodies of the dead were charred remains piled up in the prayer hall area, and some of them were scattered in the school yard as a result of the intensity of the Israeli bombing.
By targeting the “Al-Tabi’een” school, the number of schools sheltering displaced persons that were bombed by the Israeli army in Gaza City in just one week has risen to 6, leaving a large number of dead and wounded.
Since October 7, 2023, the IOF has continued to carry out a genocide on the Gaza Strip, which has led to a catastrophic deterioration of the humanitarian and health conditions, due to the continuous bombing and the tight siege that prevents the arrival of basic supplies of food, water, medicine and electricity.
The international community must take immediate action to stop the genocide, and to force the Israeli occupation to comply with the decisions of the International Court of Justice, the United Nations and the Security Council. States and international institutions must take serious steps to protect civilians, ensure the urgent delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, implement international resolutions calling for an end to the siege and aggression, and put an end to these horrific crimes.
