The Israeli occupation forces and settlers continue to commit serious violations against Palestinians and their property in the occupied territories, in clear defiance of international conventions that prohibit targeting civilians and their property.
Today, southern Nablus experienced a series of attacks and violations that add to a long history of crimes committed against Palestinians without accountability.
An elderly Palestinian was brutally killed
The elderly man, Atef Malik Diriya, was killed on Wednesday afternoon after the Israeli forces brutally beat him while he was on his land in the Aqraba town, south of Nablus.
Local sources reported that Sheikh Diriya was seriously injured after being subjected to a brutal assault, after which he was transferred to the National Hospital in Nablus, where he was proclaimed dead.
Sheikh Diriya, who was defending his legitimate rights on his land, exemplifies the suffering endured by Palestinians under occupation.
It is noteworthy that the attack took place in an area that is constantly exposed to settler attacks.
Demolition of Palestinian-owned facilities
In Nablus; Israeli occupation bulldozers demolished two commercial facilities in Hawara town, owned by citizens Ziad Muhareb and Majed Muhammad.
The demolition came as part of the economic tightening policy that aims to displace Palestinians from the area.
The matter did not stop there, as settlers burned a house under construction and two vehicles in the town this morning, in a clear and planned attack.
At the same time; a similar attack was carried out in Beit Furik town, east of Nablus, where settlers burned a house under construction, a grocery store, and a vehicle.
These violations represent a clear breach of international humanitarian law, particularly the Fourth Geneva Convention. They are part of a systematic Israeli policy aimed at targeting Palestinian civilians and their property, with the intent of forcing displacement and altering the demographic and geographic makeup of the region.
The ongoing continuation of these practices, without any form of international accountability, fosters a culture of impunity. This situation urgently requires intervention from the international community and its human rights organizations to halt the crimes associated with the occupation and to protect Palestinian civilians and their rightful claims.
