The Palestinian Civil Defense in northern Gaza announced on Sunday that Kamal Adwan Hospital in the town of Beit Lahia, northern Gaza Strip, has gone out of service due to threats from the Israeli army and its continuous shelling of the hospital’s vicinity.
The Civil Defense in northern Gaza stated in a press release that “Kamal Adwan Hospital in the town of Beit Lahia, northern Gaza Strip, has gone out of service due to threats from the Israeli army and its continuous shelling of the hospital’s vicinity.”
It was also reported that the Israeli occupation forces are firing artillery shells towards AlAwda Hospital in the Tal al-Zaatar area of Jabalia.
Rescue teams and medical crews have been working to retrieve hundreds of casualties from the rubble in Jabalia due to the Israeli bombardment.
Meanwhile, “AlAwda” Hospital in northern Gaza announced on Sunday that its staff is unable to provide treatment to patients and wounded individuals due to the Israeli army’s siege of the building, amid escalating military actions in the area.
In an abbreviated statement, the hospital emphasized that “Israeli forces are besieging AlAwda Hospital in Tal al-Zaatar, northern Gaza, and no one can receive medical and health services.”
Earlier on Sunday, the Palestinian Civil Defense in northern Gaza issued a statement indicating that the Israeli occupation forces are launching artillery shells towards AlAwda Hospital in the Tal al-Zaatar area of Jabalia.
The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip, along with international and UN organizations, had previously warned about the Israeli targeting of the healthcare system in the region and its impact on Palestinian patients and wounded individuals. Despite these warnings, Tel Aviv continues to ignore the situation.
Eight days ago, the Israeli army initiated new incursions into Jabalia and surrounding areas, subjecting them to intense artillery fire. Dozens of homes and infrastructure within the camp, which houses hundreds of thousands of residents and displaced individuals from northern Gaza, have been targeted.
On May 11th, the Israeli military demanded the immediate evacuation of all residents and displaced individuals from areas including Jabalia, as well as the neighborhoods of Salam, Noor, Tal al-Zaatar, Beit Lahia Project, Jabalia Camp, Azbat Miliin, and the neighborhoods of Rawda, Nuzha, Jiran, Nahda, and Zahour in Gaza City.
Since October 7th of last year, the Israeli occupation forces have been waging a devastating war on the Gaza Strip, resulting in dire humanitarian and health conditions due to continuous bombardment and the blockade of food, water, medicine, and electricity supplies.
This Israeli aggression against Gaza constitutes a blatant violation of international humanitarian law and human rights, endangering civilians’ lives and property, and causing severe suffering. Urgent and decisive intervention from the international community is necessary to halt the aggression and protect civilians in the region.
