Israeli occupation forces’ killing of Palestinian children in the occupied West Bank continues to escalate, in total contravention of basic international law, which prohibits the deliberate targeting of civilians.
Today, occupation forces killed a Palestinian child, Amir Mamoun Odeh, 16-years-old, outside the city of Qalqilya.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced that Odeh was critically wounded after occupation forces shot him with live fire in the chest, near a military checkpoint north of the city.
Odeh was taken to Qalqilya Government Hospital where his injury was described as “critical”.
Subsequently, doctors announced his death.
Another person injured in the same incident was also treated.
With Odeh’s killing, the number of Palestinians shot and killed by Israeli forces and settlers reached 80, including 15 children and one woman.
