The Israeli occupation forces continue their relentless military campaign against Gaza, now entering its 22nd month, marked by widespread and indiscriminate killings of civilians across the territory.
Since dawn on Sunday, a series of Israeli airstrikes killed at least 29 Palestinians, including children and displaced persons, according to medical sources and eyewitness accounts.
In Al-Shati refugee camp west of Gaza City, six civilians were killed and several others wounded when an Israeli airstrike targeted a residential home. Separately, two Palestinians were killed by a drone strike on an apartment in the Al-Sabra neighbourhood, south of the city.
In a particularly deadly attack, nine members of the Al-Arbeed family were killed when their home in the Al-Sawarkha area west of Al-Nuseirat refugee camp was struck from the air, reflecting a disturbing pattern of entire families being wiped out in single attacks.
One of the most devastating incidents occurred in Al-Nuseirat refugee camp, where an Israeli airstrike hit a water distribution point, killing eight civilians, including six children, and injuring at least 16 others. The victims had gathered to collect water for their families — a daily necessity in a context where basic services have collapsed — highlighting the absence of any effective safeguards for civilians.
Further south, three displaced Palestinians were killed inside a tent shelter in Al-Mawasi, west of Khan Younis, an area previously declared a “safe zone” by the Israeli occupation authorities.
Since 7 October 2023, the ongoing conflict has resulted in more than 196,000 Palestinians killed or injured, the majority of them women and children. Over 10,000 remain missing under the rubble, while hundreds of thousands have been forcibly displaced and are living in dire conditions in tents or amidst the debris of their destroyed homes.
The situation in Gaza is not only a sustained Israeli occupation military campaign but reflects a deliberate policy aimed at eliminating Palestinian presence. The widespread killing, destruction of homes, attacks on healthcare, water, and education infrastructure point to clear intent to dismantle the fabric of civilian life far beyond any military objective.
These acts are unfolding in broad daylight amid international inaction and silence, raising serious questions about the role of the global system in protecting civilians and preventing mass atrocities when the Israeli occupation forces act with apparent impunity.
