The Palestinian Authority (PA) security forces continue to arrest dozens of university students and political activists over their political affiliation.
In Hebron, PA Intelligence Services continued to detain the young man, Raed Ashour Abu Sneina, from Dura town, for the third consecutive day, as a hostage in an attempt to force his brother to surrender.
The young man Jamal Hazem Amer Ahdush is also continued to be held for the eighth day in a row, and Baraa Asafra for the 31st day.
In Tulkarm, PA Intelligence Services continued to arrest the young man Jaafar Abu Dayyeh for the third day in a row, and Dr. Muaz Saleh for the 19th day in a row in Jericho Central Prison.
In Ramallah, PA security forces continue to detain the Birzeit University student Muhammad al-Sheikh for the fourth day in a row, the ex-prisoner Ayman Abu Aram for the sixth day in a row, and the student at An-Najah University Ali Turkman for the 33rd consecutive day, despite the court’s decision to release him, the ex- prisoner Ahmed Noah Harish for the 45th day, and the ex-prisoner Khaled Nawabit for the 28th consecutive day in Jericho Central Prison.
In Nablus; PA security forces continue to hold the ex-prisoner Abdulaziz Al-Safadi for the fifth consecutive day, the young man Alaa Hamayel for the eighth consecutive day, and the former prisoner Murad Sawalhi for the 15th day in a row.
The Palestinian Intelligence Services also extended the detention of the ex-prisoners Ahmed Riahi and Samer Abu Ayyash for 15 days, knowing that they have been held for the 21st consecutive day in Jericho prison.
The PA Intelligence Services also continue to arrest the young man, Yahya Marei Ayyash, from Salfit, for the fourth consecutive day, and the ex-prisoner, Nader Massad, from Burqin town, for the fourth consecutive day.
The PA security services also continue to detain the ex-prisoner Muhammad Rayan for the 15th day in a row, the Birzeit University student council member Qassam Hamayel for the 26th day in a row, and the two brothers Jihad Sari and Wahdan for the 43rd day in a row, and Saad Sari and Wahdan for the 41st day in a row.
Meanwhile, the political prisoners Ahmed Khasib continued to be held in Jericho Central Prison for the 43rd consecutive day, the ex-prisoner Alaa Ghanem for the 45th consecutive day, and Munther Raheeb for the 45th consecutive day.
Human rights groups have accused the Palestinian security forces, which receive international funding, of routinely arresting and torturing peaceful critics and opponents to crush dissent.
