The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) killed a 14-year-old Palestinian child in the West Bank city of Qalqilya late on Wednesday.
The Palestinian health ministry identified the victim as Faris Abu Samra, saying that he had been shot and seriously injured in the head before being pronounced dead in Qalqilya hospital.
The shooting occurred in the city of Qalqilya, as IOF stormed a local neighbourhood overnight amid heavy firing of rubber and live bullets.
The latest victim brought the total number of Palestinians killed by IOF since the start of the year to 202, including 37 kids and 11 women.
International humanitarian law prohibits targeting civilians and subjecting them to attack, whether a group or individuals, and stresses respect for their lives, their physical and mental integrity, and their protection and humane treatment.
Thus, international human rights organisations must stop such egregious abuses, protect Palestinian children, and hold the perpetrators accountable.
