On Friday, January 7, 2022, dozens of Palestinians were wounded by rubber-coated metal bullets and tear-gas bombs fired by Israeli occupation forces (IOF), as clashes broke out throughout the West Bank.
Palestinian Red Crescent office in Nablus affirmed that at least four Palestinians suffered rubber bullet injuries. Two of them were shot in their heads.
15 others suffered tear-gas inhalation problems, the sources added, pointing out that the IOF blocked medical crews’ access to the area of the clashes.
12 other Palestinians were injured by rubber-coated bullets, while 20 tear gas inhalation cases were reported in the nearby Beit Dajan town.
Five other rubber bullet injuries were documented in Kafr Qaddoum anti-occupation march, while two similar injuries were reported in Hebron.
Every Friday, Palestinians’ stage demonstrations across the West Bank to protest Israel’s ongoing policy of building Jewish-only settlements on stolen Palestinian land.
According to estimates, some 640,000 Jewish settlers currently live on 196 settlements and more than 200 settler outposts throughout the occupied West Bank.
Palestinian Forced to Self-Demolish House
A Palestinian was forced to self-demolish his family house in al-Amoud neighbourhood in occupied Jerusalem under the pretext of being built without an Israeli permit.
The Jerusalemites have no choice but to build without permits because there are no structural maps that respond to the natural increase in their numbers, and for that reason, they are denied house permits.
The IOA also imposes building restrictions on the Palestinian natives in Jerusalem and makes it hard for them to obtain construction licences.
Israel’s systematic demolition of Palestinian homes in Occupied Jerusalem is believed to be aimed at psychologically destroying the Jerusalemite families in an attempt to force them to move from the holy city.
