On Monday, May 1, 2023, a Palestinian teenager was killed, and six others were injured when the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) stormed the Aqabat Jabr refugee camp in the southwest of Jericho.
According to the Palestinian health ministry, 17-year-old Jibril al-Lad’ah had a fatal bullet injury in his head and six others were also injured by IOF gunfire, three of them seriously.
A large number of Israeli troops stormed the camp in the early morning hours, brutally attacking local residents.
Meanwhile, two young men were also kidnapped by the IOF from the Aqabat Jabr camp. The two detainees were later identified as Ahmed Jihad Abu Al-Assal and Ahmed Jaber Wahdan.
For the 10th day in a row, the IOF besieged the West Bank city of Jericho, tightening its military controls and obstructing Palestinian movement in both directions.
The IOF routinely conducts raids, searches, and arrest operations in Palestinian towns throughout the occupied West Bank. This year, these operations have intensified, with Palestinians being detained almost daily.
