The family of the Palestinian political detainee Muhammad Eid Jawad called for revealing his fate after being arrested 12 days ago by the PA Preventive Security Service during a night raid into his family house in Burqin town in the occupied West Bank city of Jenin.
The PA security forces launched a large-scale raid and arrest campaign in Burqin over the past two weeks, where seven local residents were detained. Another local young man has been arrested for 52 days by the P intelligence service.
Muhammad Jawad’s father affirmed that he was unable to visit his son or to know his fate since his arrest.
We have been informed that Muhammad’s detention was extended for 15 days at the Jenin Prosecution Office, and he was transferred to the Beitunia Preventive Prison in Ramallah, but the information was not confirmed, he said in press statements.
The father pointed out that Muhammad was previously arrested by the PA Preventive Security Service in 2014 for six months, and transferred to Beitunia prison. He was later detained by Israeli forces only one month after his release from PA jails. He spent two years behind Israeli bars.
Ten days before his last arrest, Muhammad was summoned for investigation by the PA intelligence service in Jenin. He was later released.
However, the PA forces later stormed his family house and arrested him after causing a big mess.
Muhammad is a father of four children and he is the only supporter of his family, his father added.
In October 2022, the PA security forces carried out 409 violations including political arrests and raids.
