The Palestinian prisoner Khader Adnan, 44, has continued Saturday his hunger strike for the 14th day in Al-Jalameh detention centre in protest his re-arrest.
Sheikh Adnan was re-arrested during a violent raid into his family home, in Jenin’s Arraba town, on February 5.
Since then, he declared an open-ended hunger strike.
Sheikh Adnan was detained 12 times by Israeli occupation authorities, spending a total of eight years behind bars, mostly under administrative detention.
Administrative detention is incarceration without trial or charge, alleging that a person plans to commit a future offence. It has no time limit, and the evidence on which it is based is not disclosed.
More than 900 administrative detainees are currently held in Israeli jails, including a woman and five minors.
More than 12,000 administrative detention orders were issued over the past nine years, and 2,409 orders were reported in 2022.
