The Palestinian prisoner Maher Al-Qawasmeh, 43, from Hebron, and father of three children, is being subjected to deliberate medical negligence in the occupation prisons as he suffers from a rare skin disease that causes the formation of holes in his limbs.
Despite medical exams results which show that the disease is spreading significantly in his body and legs; the occupation prisons administration only provides him with painkillers, and the likes of narcotic drugs, which are not useful to cure his disease nor alleviate his pain which deprives him of sleep for many days.
Al-Qawasmeh has been detained since 2015 and sentenced to eight years in prison, and he is currently held in the Negev prison.
According to statistics, 600 Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli occupation prisons suffer from diseases and serious health problems, including 200 cases with chronic diseases that require close and consistent follow-up.
