On Sunday, March 26, 2023, a horde of Jewish settlers set their house ablaze in Sinjil town, north of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank.
Four settlers infiltrated the town at dawn and threw Molotov cocktails at the house of Ahmed Awashreh, where he and six members of his family lived.
Awashreh reported that he and his family miraculously survived the arson attack.
Sinjil is routinely subjected to similar settler attacks on an almost daily basis, as it is located near Givat Harel, Harwa, Shilo, and Ma’ale Libouna illegal settlements.
Last month, settlers launched massive collective attacks against Hawara, Burin, and Qaryut towns, south of Nablus, and burned dozens of Palestinian homes and vehicles.
On July 31, 2015, Saad Dawabsha, his wife, and their baby son, were killed in a settler-arson attack against their family home in the village of Duma, south of Nablus.
In a separate incident, the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) tightened their siege on Nablus, closed many of its entrances and exits, and restricted the movement of Palestinian citizens.
The settlers have recently increased their attacks on Palestinian civilians, their lands, homes, and farms. 793 settler attacks were reported in 2022 (582 resulting in property damage and 211 resulting in injuries).
