In a shocking video that swept social media, Israeli soldiers were filmed storming a Palestinian house belonging to the Dana family in Hebron city south of occupied West Bank.
The Israeli soldiers pulled nearly 13 Palestinian children out of their beds in the middle of the night and photographed them illegally.
The Palestinian children were also forced to ‘say cheese’ before being photographed against their parents’ will.
The incident took place in September. However, the footage was released on Wednesday, 17 November 2021.
The 13 children, all of whom were in kindergarten and early years of elementary school, were forced to stand outside in a line despite the cold weather. Several of them were trembling and crying.
An Israeli official was heard in the footage claiming the children were involved in a stone throwing incident, though he gave no details of which child was suspected of doing so.
Each year, between 500 and 700 Palestinian children are arrested by Israeli occupation forces.
From the moment Palestinian children come into contact with Israeli soldiers, their very basic human rights are denied.
The majority of Palestinian children report being blindfolded, strip-searched, and subjected to physical violence at the hands of Israeli forces.
Most Palestinian children are not informed of the reason for their arrest, and over half are forced to sign documents in Hebrew, a language they cannot read or understand.
During the first half of 2021, Israeli forces have brutally killed 73 Palestinian children.
No one has been held accountable for their deaths. Israeli forces act with complete impunity knowing that there will not be consequences for unlawful killings and other serious breaches of international law.
