Arab Organisation for Human Rights in the UK (AOHR UK) stressed that social media websites have always restricted Palestinian content, adding that some of them have even concluded agreements with the occupying entity to give this matter their utmost attention.
Since the beginning of the events in Jerusalem and the aggression on the Gaza Strip, social media websites have closed and restricted thousands of accounts under the pretext that they incite violence and hatred, while giving total freedom to accounts affiliated with the Zionists that incite the killing of Arabs, and spread hatred and racism.
AOHR UK affirmed that this has been a consistent policy of the occupation entity to suppress freedom of the press and prevent the circulation of information that exposes the occupation’s crimes throughout the occupied Palestinian territories.
The occupation’s record is full of killing, arresting journalists, and targeting their headquarters to prevent reality from reaching the whole world.
During this war, the most brutal attack on Journalists was destroying Al-Jalaa Tower in the Gaza Strip under the world’s eyes.
The tower contained flats and offices of Al-Jazeera and the Associated Press, in a desperate attempt to silence the voice of truth and spread a one-sided narrative of the Israeli’s fake news.
The latest collaboration of social networking sites in this war was by YouTube, which restricted access to Al-Jazeera website and its live broadcasts as inappropriate. However, the truth is that it is the most reliable as the live broadcast of Al Jazeera transmits impartially and momentarily events on the ground.
AOHR UK stressed that Al-Jazeera channel uniquely covers events around the clock throughout the Palestinian territories, thus exposing the lies of the Israeli narrative, and showing the world how the occupation entity kills people and demolishes houses with its residents inside.
Broadcasting the brutality and crimes of the occupation frustrated the occupation government and those who support them, leading them to take such unjust steps.
AOHR UK called on all free people in the world to support all platforms and accounts that expose Israeli crimes and to work diligently to spread reality on the ground.
