On Monday, February 21, 2022, the Sudanese security forces cracked down on thousands marching against the October 25 military coup.
At least 159 protesters were injured during the crackdown, including two suffered live shot injuries.
The independent Central Committee of Sudan Doctors affirmed that 159 suffered different injuries during the anti-coup rallies, including two live bullet wounds, nine hit-and-run injuries, and 27 teargas inhalations.
The injuries were mainly reported in the three cities of the capital, including 63 in Khartoum, 66 in Bahri north of Khartoum, and 30 injuries in Omdurman, west of the capital.
Since the coup, authorities have arrested dozens of activists as regular mass protests have rocked the country since a 25 October military takeover led by army chief General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan.
At least 82 people have been killed in the crackdown, many of them shot dead, and hundreds wounded by security forces.
