The armed conflict in Sudan continues to leave daily tragic events, and causing massive human losses amongst the innocent civilians.
The Sudan Doctors Syndicate announced the Rapid Support Forces killed 22 civilians and injured hundreds others in the eastern villages of Sinnar state in the south.
The (non-governmental) Medical Syndicate said in a statement: “on Thursday, the Rapid Support Forces attacked villages east of Sennar, and committed new massacres against unarmed civilians, in the village of Sheikh Al-Samani and its environs.”
It confirmed that the attack resulted in “the killing of 22 people while hundreds were injured,” noting that “it also destroyed a building attached to a mosque in which students memorise Quran and reside, and which shelters a large number of displaced people.”
It is noteworthy that millions of Sudanese are having difficulties securing food supplies and basic services, electricity and water, as a result of the ongoing fighting since April 15, 2023 between warring generals, which has left about 15,000 dead and more than 8 million displaced and refugees, according to the United Nations.
Arab Organisation for Human Rights in the UK had called on the conflicting parties in Sudan to immediately stop the ongoing battles and seek a peaceful solution through a comprehensive national dialogue.
AOHR UK also called on the UN Security Council to take immediate action and call for a ceasefire to save innocent lives at risk.
