The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) continue to escalate their execution policy in the West Bank, coinciding with the ongoing aggression on the Gaza Strip for the 223rd day in a row.
In this context, three Palestinian young men were killed at dawn Thursday after the IOF troops stormed Tulkarem City and opened fire at local residents.
The victims were identified as Ayman Mubarak, 26, Husam Babas, 22, and Mohamed Nasrallah, 27, according to the Palestinian health ministry.
Large numbers of Israeli forces broke into the city from its western entrance, and they were positioned around Bank Street, the Government Hospital Talat, the old garage area, the Martyr Thabet Thabet Roundabout, and Gamal Abdel Nasser Square in the heart of Tulkarm. A second military force, in the meantime, advanced toward the Shaarawiyah region north of Tulkarm, via the suburb of Shweika, and overran the towns of Deir Al-Ghusoun and Atil.
Snipers stationed by the occupation forces throughout the city’s streets and atop its structures fired at anything moving.
Additionally, the occupation forces stormed and searched both the Fakhr Al-Din exchange shop in the town of Atil and the Beit Al-Maqdis exchange shop in the western neighbourhood of the city.
The IOF also detained the young man, Yazan Shehadeh, after raiding his home in Anabta town, east of Tulkarem. Yazan was working at the Gulf Exchange shop in the city, that was also stormed and blown up.
Last December, the aforementioned exchange shops in Tulkarem were raided by the occupation forces, who also seized their contents and arrested a number of their workers.
In the northern neighborhood of the city, the occupation forces stopped an ambulance near the Shweika roundabout, searched it, and questioned those who were on board. Meanwhile, they took surveillance footage from a store in the western neighborhood of Tulkarm.
Yazan Shehadeh was later freed by the occupation forces following hours of incarceration and brutal beatings. He was transferred to the Martyr Thabet Thabet Governmental Hospital to receive treatment.
The IOF troops are conducting daily raids and incursions into towns and villages throughout the West Bank, including Jerusalem. These operations are accompanied by severe attacks, arrests, gunfire, and gas bombs, as well as confrontations.
Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank violates both international humanitarian law and human rights as it endangers civilians’ lives and property and causes them great suffering.
