Today, Wednesday, the Israeli occupation authorities demolished Palestinian agricultural facilities in Anata, east Jerusalem, under the pretext of being built without a permit.
Taha Al-Rifai, mayor of Anata, stressed that the occupation forces and bulldozers demolished 4 barracks and 3 sheep pens belonging to the Karshan family, in the road connecting the Anata town and Al-Zaim.
Al-Rifai added that the occupation forces intensified their military presence in the area, closed the roads leading to the place, then started the demolition. The Israeli police also attacked the residents who gathered near the demolition area and threw sound bombs to disperse them.
The Israeli occupation has recently intensified its settlement activities by demolishing Palestinian homes, which reached to 317 homes in Jerusalem in 2021, under the pretext of being built without a permit.
According to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, in 2021, the occupation demolished or confiscated 862 Palestinian buildings in Area C of the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem.
